For the BI & Decision Support division, we are looking for a talented Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Operations specialist. The consultant will share the daily ETL operations responsibility with a dedicated team in Denmark. After an introductory phase of one or two weeks the consultant will become part of the Application Management Department. The job is a combination of daily operational surveillance, operational backlog and development-assignments. The number one priority is stable daily EDW operation delivery. The consultant must enjoy maintenance and operational work as it is expected that the position will include a combination of both. The consultant is expected to take shifts (from 4 to 12 hours, also night shifts, when trained properly). Facts about the position: SAS DI is the main ETL tool. Transformations are a combination of SAS DI and pushdown Teradata SQL.Data delivery is mainly Mainframe driven and Scheduling is handled via OPC (Tivoli workload scheduler). Customer uses ITIL Service Management standards for daily operations (Incidents, Changes, Problems, etc.) The candidate will get at local mentor for day to day contact, training and coordination. The consultant will be among the first Polish Nearshore resources within the BIDS Application Management Department. Thus the consultant is expected to work very closely with colleagues and business stakeholders from Denmark. It is expected that the division will grow its Nearshore engagement in the future.
The consultant is expected to handle major operational incidents with a cool head and a focused investigative approach. Strong analytical skills, exceptional communication and collaboration skills are crucial. Equally important is the ability to be adaptable as the duties may increase or change over time. The consultant must be able to work independently and must be able to facilitate the dialogue with various stakeholders in company to ensure progress of tasks.
The consultant is experienced in SAS DI and Native SQL (pushdown) with a strong understanding and practical experience in ETL and workflow scheduling.
Experience can be transferred from similar products.
